Los Angeles education does offer some flexibility in public schools. Parents who are interested in enrolling their children in Las Virgenes Unified district schools, but who do not live within the district boundaries, can apply for interdistrict permits through Feb. 15. Parents who work within the district qualify, and the process is open to students in grades K-12.
LVUSD schools have API scores that put them in top 2 percent of schools in the state, and the district is an AP Honor Roll District of Distinction. Schools within the district have the lowest student-to-counselor ratio in the region, as well as a student-teacher ratio of 24:1 for grades K-3.
Visit www.LVUSD.org, click on the “Programs” tab, then “Permits”, then “Incoming Interdistrict Permits” to apply. For additional permit information, email email@example.com or call Ali at 818-878-5258.
