As the number of streaming services have increased, the possibilities are endless when finding something new to watch. As relaxing as it sounds to sit down and watch a fun, new show with the whole family, choosing which one can be a daunting task. We’ve rounded up new, kid-friendly shows and movies by streaming services such as Disney+ and Paramount+ to make choosing what to watch a little easier.
Redraw Your World
Cartoon Network presents “Redraw Your World,” featuring the 11-year old viral wonder Nandi Bushell. As their musician-in-residence, Bushell’s “Redraw Your World” serves as a promo for Cartoon Network’s linear and social platform. The rock ‘n’ roll style video also features iconic characters from Cartoon Network’s preschool programming Cartoonito shows, like “Teen Titans Go!” and “The Amazing World of Gumball.” In the music video, viewers follow with Bushell and the cartoon characters as she boldly drums her way through the city. The promo encourages kids be their authentic selves, and to be confident in their abilities to impact change in both big and small ways.
MyHAIRstory
Multicultural marketing agency Pop’N Creative teams up with Cartoon Network for the limited YouTube series, “MyHAIRstory.” “MyHAIRstory” is a three-part series centered around Black hairstyles featuring celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimble. Episodes include “Wash Day,” “Protective Styling” and “Love Locs.” This limited series instills self-empowerment and appreciation for the beauty of Black children’s natural hair. All three parts are available to watch on Cartoon Network’s YouTube Channel.
Clifford the Big Red Dog
The beloved Scholastic book series “Clifford the Big Red Dog” by Norman Birdwell will be adapted into a children’s movie. Set in New York City, the movie follows middle schooler Emily Elizabeth (played by Darby Camp). Emily is gifted a small, red puppy that grows to be ten feet tall. While her mom is away, Emily and her uncle Casey (played by Jack Whitehall) go on a wild adventure with Clifford around the city. “Clifford the Big Red Dog” will be released in theaters and on Paramount+ on Nov. 10. Rated PG.
Snoopy in Space
The Parent’s Choice Gold Award winning children’s show, “Snoopy in Space”, returns for a second season. In this season, Snoopy and Woodstock venture out on an interstellar road trip as they discover if there is life outside of Earth. From finding fossils on Mars to exploring planets beyond the solar system, “Snoopy in Space” encourages children to develop a passion for space exploration and use their imagination in challenging situations. All episodes of the second season of “Snoopy in Space” will be released on Nov. 12 on Apple TV+.
Olaf Presents
Olaf, the charismatic talking snowman from the award-winning movie, “Frozen” returns in his own show, “Olaf Presents.” The show is a new series of animated short episodes from Walt Disney Animation Studios with Josh Gad returning to voice Olaf. In each episode, Olaf showcases his theatrical side as he retells and reenacts iconic moments from Disney classics, such as “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King” and “Moana” for all of Arendelle. “Olaf Presents” premieres exclusively on Disney+ on Nov. 12.
Harriet the Spy
The beloved children’s novel “Harriet the Spy” by Louise Fitzhugh will be adapted into a new animated series on Apple TV+. Critically acclaimed actress Beanie Feldstein will voice the main character, Harriet M. Welsch, an aspiring writer who desires to gain knowledge on everyone by spying on them. Emmy award winning actress Jane Lynch joins Feldstein in voicing Ole Golly, Harriet’s no-nonsense nanny. The first half of the series features five episodes and will be released on Nov. 19 on Apple TV+.
A Loud House Christmas
Nickelodeon’s Emmy award winning animated series, “The Loud House” presents “A Loud House Christmas”, an original live-action TV movie. Set in the town of Royal Woods, Lincoln Loud (Wolfgang Schaeffer) realizes his family has made other plans for Christmas. With the help of his best friend, Clyde McBride (Jahzir Bruno), Lincoln Loud and Clyde McBride make efforts to ensure that the entire Loud family celebrates the holidays together. “A Loud House Christmas” premieres on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. on Nickelodeon and will stream on Paramount+ the same day.
Dragons: The Nine Realms
Based on the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, DreamWorks Animation presents “Dragons: The Nine Realms.. The show is set 1,300 years after the events in “How to Train Your Dragon.” In the modern world, dragons are a myth. Eventually, a group of kids discover the dragons and must keep their existence a secret. “Dragons: The Nine Realms” premieres on Hulu and Peacock on Dec. 23.
