Kimberly Fowler wears many hats. She’s an entrepreneur, fundraising philanthropist, fitness guru – and brain cancer survivor. And she’ll combine all of these roles June 22 when she hosts the fifth annual YAS-A-THON, a spinning marathon that raises funds for cancer research.
Participants in the YAS-A-THON will ride stationary bikes for three continuous hours, with proceeds to benefit ThinkCure! [www.thinkcure.org] at City of Hope and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The organization brings together researchers from both institutions and selectively invests in high-risk, high-return cancer research projects that might go unfunded without this support.
The YAS-A-THON occurs from 1-4 p.m. at all four YAS Fitness Center locations; YAS Venice, 1101 Abbot Kinney Blvd.; YAS Silverlake, 1932 Hyperion Ave.; YAS Downtown L.A., 831 South Hope Street; and YAS East Costa Mesa, 291 East 17th Street. The five-year fundraising goal is $1,000,000.
YAS is a hybrid fitness movement combining yoga and indoor cycling for cardio, strength training, stretching and alignment. Learn more at www.go2yas.com.
