Cupcake Fun and Bounty with Despicable Me 3 prints
Elena Epstein, Sponsored by BountyOur favorite characters are back and we are so excited! My daughters and I have enjoyed the loveable Minions and their amusing adventures for many years and are so excited for the latest movie, Despicable Me 3. As a fun prequel to the movie, we decided to have a mother-daughter baking day – something we have done together since Erin and Emily were toddlers. Moms and dads out there – this is a great tradition to start with your kids. Cooking and baking together is one our family’s all-time favorite activities. The kitchen becomes a mess, but we always have so much fun.
To help with our setup and cleanup of some blue-and-yellow Minion cupcakes, we added something extra fun and whimsical – Bounty’s new limited-edition Despicable Me 3 paper towels. How cute are these! Kids of all ages, even my teenage kids, love these adorable Minion-themed paper towels.
We decided to make our favorite and super-easy vanilla cupcakes. (We found the recipe on Food.com.)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- First, set up your baking area with all the necessary ingredients.
- Cream the butter and sugar. Mix the flour with the baking power and salt, then add the milk.
- Combine the flour mixture and the butter mixture. Beat well, then stir in the vanilla.
- Scoop the batter into a prepared cupcake pan and bake at 375 degrees for 18 minutes. Let cool in pan before decorating.
- We decided to have some fun with frosting – blue and yellow – to make our cupcakes Minion-like. We then added some candy eyeballs and a smile with a thin black-icing tube.
- Blue frosting went around the bottom and yellow frosting toped our cupcakes. This makes the cupcakes a little messy to handle, but we love frosting! Another alternative to blue frosting is blue cupcake papers.
- Our little Minions came out super cute!
- Yes, the kitchen island was a bit messy …
- … but our Bounty with Despicable Me 3 paper towels were so fun to use to clean up!
- And the best part!! Enjoying our cupcakes and of course the fun we had creating them!
