Playing At the Park

Amenities include basketball courts, picnic spots, children’s play areas and a fun wading pool where kids can cool off and play! The park offers fun in the sun all summer long for ages 8 and younger, and has lifeguards on duty.
Super Splash Pad
Virginia Avenue Park, 2200 Virginia Ave., Santa Monica; 310-458-8688. This 9.5-acre park features a fun patio for gathering with loved ones, a super-size splash pad, two children’s playgrounds, picnic areas and a large grassy area for tons of summertime fun!
Splashing and Swimming
Stoner Park Splash Pool,1835 Stoner Ave., L.A.; 310-575-8286. This seasonal, outdoor wading-pool area has splash equipment and a water slide for kids. The pool also offers swim lessons and a junior lifeguard program.
Down By the Lake
Alondra Community Regional Park, 3850 W. Manhattan Beach Blvd., Lawndale; 310-217-8366. This 53-acre park includes a lake, playground, splash pad, picnic areas, swimming pool and even a skate park.
The Best Beach House
Annenberg Community Beach House, 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica; 310-458-4904. This fun, public destination features a splash pad, outdoor pool, playground and wonderful ocean views. Monday Fun Days offer children’s events and activities weekly. The Community Picnic from 6-8:30 p.m. July 27 offers an evening of old-fashioned family fun. During the Cardboard Yacht Regatta from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 26 you kids can build and set sail in their very own yacht and race across the Beach House Pool ($15 ages 8 and up, team registration required).
