Los Angeles events - D23 2015

Frozen fans will be singing a happy tune this month. ARTWORK COURTESY THE WALT DISNEY CO.

Do you like to sing “Let It Go” – in 10 different languages? Can you name all of the current and former Disneyland rides? Do you daydream about Pixar’s next picture? Then the D23 Expo – 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 14-15 and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center (800 W. Katella Ave.) is the second happiest place on Earth for you. This biennial extravaganza, one of the much-anticipated Los Angeles events of the year, offers a peak behind the Disney curtain for a look at new projects and Disney history.

Learn about upcoming Pixar and Disney films at a panel hosted by CCO John Lasseter. See footage from The Good Dinosaur, Zootopia and Finding Dory, enjoy special appearances and musical performances and learn the stories behind Pixar’s hit films. There will be a salute to Pixar’s latest hit, Inside Out, and a tribute honoring the 20th anniversary of Toy Story.

See the big Buzz Lightyear balloon that has graced the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a unique animation exhibit, a showcase of John Lasseter’s famous Hawaiian shirt collection and an exclusive presentation of Frozen FANdemonium: A Musical Celebration!

Tickets: $42-$216; www.D23.com.
