Eager to understand the California State Standards your kids are supposed to learn this year? There’s an app for that. The California Department of Education has launched a mobile app where you can find the standards with a touch of your fingertips. The app offers quick, targeted access to standards related to the arts, computer science, health education, history, social science and math. These standards are the foundations that public-school teachers use to determine the knowledge, concepts and skills that their students should learn for subject areas at each grade level. The California State Standards app, designed by CDE staff, can search, filter and sort content standards to isolate specific content, identify standards that are common across disciplines and inform decisions around instruction and assessment.
The launch of the California State Standards app is phase one of a multi-phase plan. This first phase includes five of the 12 California content standards. In subsequent phases, additional content standards will be included, as well as additional features that will enhance the usefulness of the application to California educators.
You can find the app on the iOS App store, the Android Play store and the Micro-soft store by searching “CA Standards.” More information about the app and links to the app stores can be found at www.cde.ca.gov/re/mo/castandards.asp.
