Get into the spirit of Día de los Muertos by joining us for a conversation with Self Help Graphics & Art’s teaching artist William Acedo and the Coronado Family, and hear their perspectives on calacas by Felipe Linares in the Fowler’s collection. Norma and Edgar Coronado learned the craft of making calacas cartonerías (papier-mâché skeletons) from William Acedo through Self-Help Graphics & Art’s community art workshops and became master craftsmen themselves. Want to try your hand at it? Artist William Acedo will teach you how to make your own calaca cartonería (papier-mâché skeleton) out of household materials in a 5-part video workshop. Learn more here.
