10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Jan. 19 (closed Nov. 28, Dec. 25, Jan. 1). Chewing gum magnet William Wrigley Jr. bought Catalina Island and this exhibit celebrates the centennial of this landmark event along with honoring the man behind it. Wrigley’s majestic, ambitious plans for the island are laid out through the display of photographs, letters, original documents, plans, blueprints, maps, steamship artifacts, advertisements, tools and objects relating to the various projects and industries. Also on view are a number of never-before-displayed personal items, like the Wrigley family Bible. Inspired by Wrigley’s generosity and passion, the museum is offering everyone who paid admission a free stick of Wrigley’s Gum (subject to availability) when they exit the museum through the end of the exhibition.
