At L.A. Parent, we get to hear about a lot of great dads, and admire their positive parenting skills. In 2014, we decided to shine a spotlight on one terrific father – and do something special for him and his family.
We were delighted at the flood of submissions in our Dad Heroes essay contest, and even more delighted to find Joe Stoop, a father of three who fits our definition of “hero” perfectly. With the help of some wonderful partners, we sent the Stoop family on a San Diego getaway, and they were kind enough to share some of their vacation pictures. Joe’s wife, Jessica, writes:
I wanted to send you some of the pics from our San Diego Getaway courtesy of your awesome magazine. We truly had a wonderful time and were able to do everything despite the rain. Thank you so much for gifting this to our family/my husband. It was a great time to spend together as a family and create memories. I think my husband’s favorite part was either the Corvette Diner, the fun cats (part of the Loews voucher), meeting CoCo the Dolphin or the Shamu show (we were able to watch the last show of the night while it was raining….it was magical).
