Boonion Station

October 31 @ 11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Join Los Angeles Union Station at the 7th annual Boonion Station, a free family-friendly Halloween bash.
Enjoy an afternoon of spooktacular fun with balloon artists twisting up creepy creations, face painting, dancing, crafts and Treats-on-Track trick-or-treating with LAPD and Metro TAP. DJ Keyon in the Mix will be spinning family-friendly tunes all day. A costume contest has categories for 12 & Under, Tween & Teens (13-17), 18+, and Family/Duo judged by LAPD.
This year at Boonion Station, kids can make a monster and bring it to life! Presented by Metro Art, Once Upon a Monster invites little creators to let their imaginations run wild at a hands-on monster-making station stocked with googly eyes, teeth, tongues, horns, wild hair and all manner of weird and wonderful monster parts. Mix, match, glue and create a creature that’s uniquely your own.
Then comes the magic. Bring your monster to the Monster Poetry Booth, where Los Angeles Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace and friends will meet your creature and spin a short, one-of-a-kind spooky tale inspired by its name, personality and peculiar powers or make a story all your own on a vintage typewriter. Make a monster. Meet a poet. Get a story. Every monster has a tale to tell!
Stilt walkers will be roaming around throughout the event, offering a costumed performance and built-in photo ops for families.
