California Watermelon Festival

A San Fernando Valley tradition, the California Watermelon Festival offers “a sweet slice of California” and celebrates the beginning of summer with a vibrant California harvest, live bands, car show, watermelon eating and costume contests, carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors and more.

The California Watermelon Festival takes place Saturday, June 6 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 7, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Hansen Dam Soccer Fields, an area equal to four football fields.
This year, attendees can enjoy unique watermelon-inspired dishes, watermelon themed arts and crafts and an expanded Kids Zone, which includes face painting, bubble show, pony rides and petting zoo, live singing and dancing performances and more. Freshly sliced watermelon will be available for purchase, either plain or with chamoy and whole watermelons will also be sold on-site.
