Not only do local kids have the opportunity to walk the red carpet, they can walk with Freddie Benson from iCarly!
Nathan Kress, best known for his lead role in Nickelodeon’s iCarly, is hitting the red carpet for photo opportunities with local kids at the first ever 168Kids! event, a new family-friendly segment of the Annual 168 Film Festival. The event is designed to transform young people into VIPs for the day, and will feature kid-friendly films, food, games and a special red carpet walk.
168Kids! is an opportunity for local youth to meet and interact with role models, and for young stars to give back to the community. At age 14, Kress received an “Honorable Mention” Jury Award for his role in the 168 Film short Bag, which gave his career an early boost. iCarly followed shortly after.
The special kids event will take place Sept. 13 at the Aratani Japanese Theater in Downtown LA. Kress, along with other young stars, will walk the red carpet with local kids in the morning, and will join the all-star lineup of presenters at the Festival Awards Show in the evening.
The 168Kids! event is $5 per person, and the schedule includes:
- 10am to 11am– Special screenings of kid and family-friendly films.
- 11am to Noon– Red carpet walk: kids can strike a pose with photographers and celebrities.
- 11:45am to 12:30pm– “Your Child and Hollywood:” experts discuss the world of young actors.
