Calling all environmental enthusiasts! Grades of Green is now collecting applications for its 2014-2015 Youth Corps Student Leadership Program.
The environmental education nonprofit encourages kids to go green by selecting a group of students to create and implement a yearlong Green Project in their school community. The team receives regular guidance and leadership training from passionate Grades of Green staff and a supportive peer network of fellow Youth Corps students.
The 2013-14 team included a variety of inspirational students and projects. Sam H., a ninth grader at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, organized Soles 4 Souls used shoe collection drives that collected 1500 shoes for donation. Grace C., a seventh grader at St. Matthew’s Parish School in Pacific Palisades, is battery recycling drop boxes and Green Tips all around her school. Morgan W., a second grader atLou Dantzler Prep Elementary School in Los Angeles, is planting mobile gardens around campus.
Members of the leadership program become empowered to help the environment when they see their actions spark change. To make a difference and apply for the Grades of Green Youth Corps Student Leadership Program, visit: www.gradesofgreen.org
