In the same way that Back-to-School season gets me excited for fall, despite L.A.’s signature late summer heat, so does Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia at Disneyland Resort. The theme parks’ fall favorite experiences kicked off Aug. 23 and will continue through October and November, featuring a full lineup of family-friendly entertainment.
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort
From Aug. 23 through Oct. 31, both parks and Downtown Disney District are decked out in seasonal décor, fall-themed dining experiences and more for Halloween Time. The Main Street Pumpkin Festival is back, featuring an assortment of uniquely carved pumpkins, including the iconic giant Mickey Mouse Pumpkin for all your fall photo ops. The Haunted Mansion Holiday gets its annual fall makeover with spooky updates inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
On select nights at Disneyland Park, thrill-seekers of all ages can celebrate spooky season with Halloween Screams. Haunting toons from Disney’s famous villains fill the air, followed by a fireworks grand finale.
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, the cars at “Radiator Screams” are dressed up in Haul-O-Ween attire. Little ones will love the interactive, music-filled stage show “Mickey’s Trick and Treat,” featuring a not-so-scary story, Halloween songs, bubbles, surprises and more.
Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park
From Aug. 23 through Nov. 2, immerse yourself in the world of “Coco” at Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure Park and celebrate the spirit of DÍa de los Muertos. Take pictures with Miguel, add personal messages on the Memory Wall, enjoy live music on the Paradise Garden Bandstand and enjoy arts and crafts inspired by “Coco.”
Fall Fun for the Foodies
Fan favorites like seasonal churros and caramel apples are back throughout both parks. But there are many new Halloween Time offerings, like the Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake at Blue Bayou Restaurant, “Ghost” of Anaheim Burger at the Galactic Grill and Philly Potato Dog at Refreshment Corner.
