My 7-year-old has already asked to get her ears pierced, but I wouldn’t take her to my hometown mall where all my peers and I went because there were no alternatives. Fortunately, piercing studios for teens and tweens have come a long way.
Mom-founded ear piercing and jewelry brand Rowan, for example, has over 100 studios across the United States, and the next one is opening at 2nd&PCH in Long Beach. Founder & CEO, Louisa Serene Schneider, wanted to set a higher standard ear piercing experience for all ages. Unable to find a place to get her daughter’s ears pierced that felt both special and safe, she set out to create her own.
All Rowan studios feature the brand’s hypoallergenic jewelry, using 14K gold, 24K gold, sterling silver, titanium or platinum. All piercings are performed by licensed nurses and backed by a medical advisory board, to ensure the safest piercing experience possible.
Through its Rowan Clinical Piercing Standard® the studio boasts an adverse reaction of less than 1%, compared to the industry average of 30%.
The new 2nd & PCH location will be Rowan’s third California location. Southern California families can also visit Rowan at Del Amo Shopping Center in Torrance, while a Fashion Valley location in San Diego is planned to open soon.
