A new Amtrak Thruway bus route makes traveling to Vegas a little easier this summer. Riders can expect daily service between L.A. and Las Vegas with guaranteed connections to six Pacific Surfliner Trains. Bus-only service without a train segment is also available.
The new route has intermediate stops in San Bernardino, Victorville and Barstow. Upon arrival at the South Strip Transfer Terminal in Las Vegas, passengers can connect to double decker buses known as The Deuce to travel to the Vegas Strip or Downtown Las Vegas.
The Thruway buses offer amenities like reclining seats, footrests, restrooms, individual lighting, and free Wi-Fi. Amtrak has made several upgrades to their technology, fleet, stations and processes to make travel as safe as possible during this time. All passengers and employees must wear a face mask at all times while onboard and in stations,
The Pacific Surfliner serves 27 stations along a 351-mile coastal route through San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The Amtrak Thruway bus also provides guaranteed connection between Fullerton Station and Palm Springs, between Paso Robles and the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Stations, and between the Santa Barbara Station and Solvang.
