Families in West L.A. will find a new after-school program for their children that is open to all, combines after-school childcare with Jewish learning and includes transportation from nearby schools to the program located at Temple Isaiah.
Temple Isaiah was selected as one of seven North American synagogues to participate in the Jewish After School Accelerator (JASA), an initiative of Jewish Kids Groups. Throughout 2026, the synagogue will receive guidance to recruit and train after-school staff, structure transportation plans and customize the Jewish and Hebrew curriculum.
Temple Isaiah is among the latest group of JASA participants, 27 Jewish after-school programs now operating or in development across North America thanks to the accelerator. Each program is open to the public and designed to support families seeking a convenient, flexible, after-school option rooted in Jewish learning.
Jewish Kids Groups launched the accelerator following more than a decade of operating weekday afternoon programs in Atlanta. The effort is grounded in the belief that infusing Jewish learning into after school childcare, an essential service that families with young children already rely on, makes it easier for modern families to prioritize Jewish connection.
