West Hills Hamakom is one of eight synagogues nationwide to receive a grant to launch an interactive camp-like Jewish after-school program to support busy parents. Enrollment for The Spot is now open for the 2024-25 school year with flexible scheduling options for parents looking for after-school care or quality Jewish programming, according to Sara Price, program director. The Spot offers after-school care for as few as two days a week or as many as five days, with care going until 6 pm. The Spot also offers transportation from several local elementary schools.
Parents yearning for Jewish connection will find it and more at The Spot, where Jewish values and Hebrew are woven into every part of the day. “Our goal is for Judaism to come alive for your child by personally experiencing the joys and wonder of being a part of Jewish culture,” Price says. “And while we’re at it, we’ll make sure homework gets completed and your child receives nutritional snacks — all this and tons of fun in an upbeat camp-like environment!”
