Halloween giving usually means choosing treats to hand out at your door. The L.A. Cancer Challenge offers another way to give. Taking place at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 26 (the Sunday before Halloween), this annual fundraiser for the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research includes a 5/10K run and a Kids Can Cure Fun Run. The event gets into the holiday spirit with a Halloween Kid Zone with pumpkin decorating, live entertainment and a costume parade.
So, come dressed up and have some fun burning off pre-Halloween calories and helping others.
The event takes place at the Veterans Administration Grounds, 11301 Wilshire Blvd., L.A.; www.LACancerChallenge.com. Entry fee is $35-$45 adults, $20 Kids Fun Run.
