A six-week program from Momentum Academy and Cheerful Helpers gives parents and caregivers a space to recharge through yoga, breathwork, group therapy and community.
Most parents and caregivers spend their days supporting everyone else. But a six-week pilot project is offering a dedicated time and space for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children to slow down, breathe deeply, recharge and build community.
Body & Soul: A Wellness Experience for Parents of Neurodivergent Children was launched in August by two nonprofits, Momentum Academy and Cheerful Helpers Child and Family Study Center. Each session, held on Saturdays, includes gentle yoga and breathwork, group therapy led by a licensed therapist and light refreshments.
The small-group experience is intentionally designed to create a warm, supportive and welcoming environment where meaningful connections can grow, says Eric Amundson, founder of Momentum Academy. “Together, we explore ways to manage stress, build resilience, strengthen connections and support both ourselves and our families.”
Everyone is welcome; attendees do not have to be a part of Momentum Academy or Cheerful Helpers to join. Learn more at momentumacademyla.com.
