The summer months find folks flocking to Los Angeles theme parks, and this summer you will have several new reasons to join the crowds.
The new Pixar Pier opens June 23, taking over a large section of Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure. This permanent attraction includes neighborhoods inspired by “The Incredibles,” “Toy Story,” “Inside Out” and other Pixar creations. Don’t miss the high-speed Incredicoaster, which updates the California Screamin’ roller coaster with an “Incredibles” theme.
A new “Kung Fu Panda” movie, “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” premieres June 15 exclusively at the all-new DreamWorks Theatre at Universal Studios Hollywood. The multisensory, high-tech viewing experience includes the first integration of interior projection depicting a series of immersive scenic designs to enhance the story.
Star Wars Days return to Legoland the first two weekends in June. Come join the Jedi knights, stormtroopers and other “Star Wars” characters visiting the park from galaxies far, far away and participate in the LEGO “Star Wars” Family Build Challenge, LEGO Star Wars Miniland Scavenger Hunt, Jedi Trivia and costume contests.
Electric Ocean will brighten nights at SeaWorld (pictured) starting June 16 and on select dates through Sept. 3. This luminescent celebration includes Illuminight, an electric party featuring high-flying acrobatics, floating sea life and a tribe of electric dancers; Cirque Electrique’s audacious aerial performers; the Journey to Atlantis and Manta reCHARGED roller coasters and the colorful evening-ending Laser Reef show.
