12th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration

Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery will host its 12th annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Sunday, Nov. 1, bringing together approximately 1,500 to 2,000 community members each year to honor and remember loved ones who have passed before us.

The celebration will feature ballet folklórico, Aztec dancers, mariachi, face painting, sugar skull decorating, ofrenda building and crafts. A Mass with Father Tomás will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a blessing of the graves.

Día de los Muertos is a tradition centered on remembering and celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Throughout the day, families will have opportunities to honor loved ones through ofrendas and traditional activities while gathering for live cultural performances.
