Five year ago, Descanso Gardens debuted a new, seven-acre native plant garden called Oak Woodland. Today, they will host a special program honoring this anniversary. At 10 a.m., you can sit under a canopy of oaks and learn about these essential and majestic California trees from herbalist/educator/author, Emily Han. Stop in at the Information Station and pick up a wildflower map that will guide you to Seed Stations around the garden. While visiting the Seed Stations, you can accumulate a wildflower seed packet to take home. Learn about the different plants and animals living in the Oak Woodland during a 1 p.m. guided walk.
