Meet Audrey Grace Marshall, an L.A.-based young actor currently starring in Paramount+ / Nickelodeon’s “The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder” and “The Flight Attendant” on HBO Max.
Please tell us a little about your current role on “The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder.”
I play Vivian Turner. Viv is an old soul who dreams of a quiet life on a farm. Those dreams are disrupted when her father, Ty, moves her to the wacky and weird town of Dimmsdale. There she inherits Wanda and Cosmo, the fairies, from her cousin, Timmy Turner. Viv is a fish out of water and is forced to adjust to a new normal with a new family.
When did you know you wanted to be an actor and how did you get started?
I used to be very shy and my parents wanted to help me overcome my lack of confidence. They tried a lot of things, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, etc. but nothing worked. At that time I was 7 years old and obsessed with the Disney show, “Liv and Maddie,” so for fun I said I wanted to be on TV. My parents got me an audition from Actors Access and I booked my first job, a lead role in an indie film. I had an instant love of the craft and have never looked back. Needless to say- it worked. I’m no longer shy, lol.
What advice do you have for other young actors?
If you want to do something, just go for it! Someone somewhere is going to get that job and be that actor… why can’t it be you? It can! Don’t let anything stand in your way. My mom always taught me that I could do anything I wanted in life, it was just a matter of how hard I wanted to work to get there. So make a commitment and then put in the work! There are only so many no’s before the odds turn it to a yes!
What do you enjoy most about performing?
I love being on set and creating something artistic. It’s so fun to bring the characters to life and to make something that will live on forever.
What are the most challenging parts of being a young actor?
What I find most challenging about being an actor is the inconsistency. The industry is like riding a wave, at times you’re on the wave and it’s amazing and all these things are happening, and at other times you’re just sitting out in the ocean waiting to catch another one. The slow times are hard for me. I love acting and I want to be doing it all the time.
What are some of your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing when not acting?
I ride and show horses, and I work with a trainer in the English hunter jumper discipline.
I also study ballet. I like to stay busy and active.
What are some of your favorite activities and spots in and around L.A.?
Since I ride horses, I spend a lot of time at the equestrian centers around L.A. Riding is definitely my favorite sport! I also love hiking and I’ve been exploring a lot of the good hiking trails around Griffith Park and Lake Hollywood. The ocean is another one of my favorite places to be. I really enjoy dining at Crossroads Kitchen, Sushi Fumi, Horses, and when I’m on the go I’ll stop at Mr. Charlie’s.
