Celebrate the final days of summer with these festival, fairs, movies and concerts.
Labor Day Weekend Fun
Labor Day weekend at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort
9:30am – 8:00pm Fri, Aug 30 – Sep 02 | Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort
Celebrate Labor Day Weekend at Newport Dunes’ Inflatable Aquatic Park, featuring extra-large inflatables like a 17-foot slide, climbable icebergs, monkey bars, bouncers, slides and more. Additional water activities include pedal boats, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and 21-foot electric Duffy boats. Enjoy live music throughout the weekend with Tunes on the Dunes. Bring beach chairs for Movies on the Beach, featuring “Dory” on Friday and “Mrs. Doubtfire” on Saturday at dusk. Food and drink will be available for purchase from onsite food trucks and fully stocked bar.

A Labor Day weekend tradition, the 42nd annual Malibu Chili Cookoff features its famous chili contest in addition to carnival rides, games, live entertainment and local vendors. All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu.
West Adams Avenues Jazz & Musical Festival
6:00pm – 11:00pm Fri, Aug 30 – Sep 01 | West Adams
Enjoy fabulous foods and drinks from area restaurants and food trucks, dancing and live jazz music, non profits, and handmade goods. Make sure to bring a comfy chair or blanket, some bug spray, and your dancing shoes!
5th Annual Leimert Park Jazz Festival
11:30am – 8:30pm Sat, Aug 31 | Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza
This celebration of jazz, community and culture returns to Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza with music, food, an art competition, community resources, a beer and wine lounge and a kids’ zone.
Long Beach Greek Food & Music Fest
12:00pm – 8:00pm Sat, Aug 31 – Sep 02 | Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church
From authentic Greek food, live Greek music, dancing, and shopping, you’ll be surrounded by the sites and sounds of a culture with a deep history and beautiful traditions.

The Japanese Car Cruise-In stands as a cornerstone in the Petersen Museum’s annual lineup of events, drawing in thousands of JDM enthusiasts and aficionados each year.
From time-attackers to showstoppers and custom builds, the event promises an impressive showcase of JDM legends spanning several floors of the Petersen Garage. Car enthusiasts from across California flock to Los Angeles for this renowned show, eager to display their prized vehicles and share in the culture and history of Japanese automotive excellence.
The Petersen Store will also be open for those hoping to go home with something special to remember the day.
There will be water, coffee and light snacks for spectators. Onigiri & Boba meal tickets are available for $20, which includes two rice balls and one boba tea drink.
12:00pm – 7:00pm Sun, Sep 1 | Arts District Brewing Company
Arts District Brewing is hosting their first ever TRACTION JUNCTION, Labor Day event. This is free, all-ages festival features a Pig Roast, live bands and DJ’s, flea market, drink specials, desserts, spirit tastings and more.
Summer Concerts in the Park: The Spazmatics
5:00pm – 7:00pm Mon, Sep 2 | Conejo Community Park
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnics for the Labor Day concert with The Spazmatic, featuring a live performance of the National Anthem by Marissa Margolis. Food trucks and dessert trucks will also be available.
Internationally renowned as “The Ultimate 80s New Wave Tribute,” the Spazmatics come with all the awesome sounds, styles, and way cool dance steps from the decade we’ll never forget. Complete with skinny ties, Brylcreemed hair, and horn-rimmed glasses, the Spazmatics combine precise choreography, quick-witted humor and the biggest hits from 40 years ago, into a show that recaptures all the best of the worst from the 80’s.
