In celebration of Knott’s Berry Farm’s 100-year anniversary and grand re-opening, Bob Baker Marionette Theater presents “Alegre!” Beginning May 21, Bob Baker Marionette Theater will perform its all-ages show every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Sept. 5 at the historic park.
“Alegre!” is a colorful celebration of music and marionettes, featuring samba-dancing cacti, fluttering flowers, a majestic marimba player and many more newly restored puppets. The show perfectly complements the enchantment and vibrance of Knott’s Fiesta Village where the performances will take place.
With “Alegre!” Bob Baker Marionette Theater continues the legacy of live puppet performances at the historic Knott’s Berry Farm. Tony Kemeny’s puppet wagon entertained park guests in the late 1950s and René Zendejas’ marionette performance delighted audiences in the 1980s.
Knott’s 100th anniversary celebration, “The Knott’s Family Reunion,” will also include themed food items, festive park décor, exclusive merchandise and special surprises that all pay homage to the nostalgia surrounding the park.
The iconic L.A. institution, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, has been entertaining children and families since 1963. They recently moved to Highland Park where the Theater plans to expand its programming to reach families, adults, and the community at large.
Bob Baker Marionette Theater carries on the tradition of puppetry at Knott’s this summer May 21 to Sept. 5 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with four shows per day at the Fiesta Villa Stage. Performances are free with park admission. Knott’s Berry Farm is located at 8039 Beach Blvd. Buena Park, CA 90620.
