Join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy in-person or online for Earth Day celebrations. On April 23 volunteer to help care for a native plant demonstration garden and habitat for local wildlife at White Point Nature Preserve. Roundhouse Aquarium hosts their annual Earth Day event on April 23. Join the Los Angeles Zoo for five weekends of spring and Earth Month celebrations. Fridays and Saturdays from April 2 to May 1 “Wild for the Planet” will feature animal feedings, hands-on springtime activities for children, an Earth Expo, spring photo ops, honey tastings and a book talk with Ziggy Marley and his wife and collaborator Orly Marley. Go for a ride
Metrolink will offer free rides on Earth Day to show how small acts, like taking the train, can make a green impact on our environment. All day riders can board a Metrolink train at any station, make a #takethetrain pledge to be entered on Metrolink’s Earth Day webpage for a chance to win a monthly pass and see how taking the train makes a great ecological impact on Metrolink’s personal impact calculator. Volunteer

Watch a movie
Celebrate the wonder of our planet with inspiring movies and specials premiering on Disney + on Earth Day, like Disneynature’s “Polar Bear,” which tells the story of a new mother navigating motherhood in the challenging world polar bears face today, and National Geographic’s “Explorer: The Last Tepui,” which follows elite climber Alex Honnold and a world-class climbing team on a grueling mission deep in the Amazon jungle to climb up a 1,000-foot sheer cliff.
Get crafty
