Looking for a getaway that trades crowded resort spas for wide-open wilderness? Vermejo, a Ted Turner Reserve in northern New Mexico, is introducing a new collection of wellbeing experiences designed to help guests slow down, reconnect with nature and make space for relaxation.
Spanning 558,000 acres of private wilderness, Vermejo encompasses alpine peaks, grasslands, 19 lakes and abundant wildlife, including bison, elk, deer and pronghorn. Guests can explore the landscape through more than 45 guided activities, from hiking and fly-fishing to wildlife conservation tours.
The new Wild Wellbeing program builds on that nature-focused experience with activities inspired by the surrounding landscape and traditional wellness practices.
Guests can participate in a crystal bowl sound bath atop Castle Rock, practice yoga or tai chi outdoors, try guided breathwork and meditation or experience the calming presence of horses at the reserve’s stables. For a quieter evening, the self-guided Dark Sky Starbathing experience invites guests to settle in beneath the night sky with a warm blanket, herbal tea and a meditation booklet.
Culinary experiences are part of the program, too. At the reserve’s greenhouse, guests can gather fresh herbs and create seasonal, alcohol-free botanical elixirs. Additional offerings include ceremonial cacao experiences and a signature massage at Turner House.
Whether the goal is outdoor adventure, a little digital disconnection or simply time to recharge, Vermejo offers a distinctive take on a restorative getaway.
