Los Angeles families can soon shop fresh, local and Black-owned ā right from a farmer’s market on wheels.Ā Prosperity MarketĀ is launching its new fleet of solar-powered mobile trailers on April 4, bringing farm-fresh produce, pantry staples and chef-driven meals directly to neighborhoods across the city. Part food truck, part farmers market, these 48-foot trailers spotlight Black farmers, food producers and chefs while expanding access to healthy food in communities that need it most.
Black-owned businesses include Ghost Town Oats, The Farmer Ken and Gloriaās Shito, plus a rotating roster of L.A.’s best chefs taking over the trailersā kitchens. Co-founders Kara Still and Carmen Dianne envisioned the trailers as farmer’s-markets-on-wheels, and unveiled their design of the first solar-powered andĀ electric trailer at theĀ 2023 LA Auto Show. Since then, Prosperity Market has popped up at iconic L.A. venues such as The Original Farmers Market and the Melrose Trading Post. Prosperity Market will announce the trailerās upcoming schedule following the launch event, which will include weekly stops across Los Angeles.
