The popular Thanksgiving tradition is back with a slew of in-person fun runs and walks throughout the L.A. area. Many of these races have special kid runs, so the whole family can take part in the Turkey Day fun!
- The annual 5K and 10K fundraiser for the nonprofit The Midnight Mission, Turkey Trot Los Angeles, will begin and end in front of L.A. City Hall. - Simi Valley’s 8th annual Thanksgiving Day 5K will take place Nov. 25 starting at Rancho Simi Park. Walkers, people with strollers and runners of all levels are encouraged to participate. $41.50-$45. thanksgivingday5k.com
- The Irvine/Orange County Turkey Trot 5K on Nov. 25 features a “Gobble Wobble” kids event for ages 0-12. Run, jog, walk or stroll this family-friendly course, which begins at Irvine Valley College. Everyone who finishes the race gets a slice of fresh pumpkin pie! $28-$50. runocturkeytrot.com
- Run up an appetite with Anaheim’s pre-Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K/10K & Fun Run Nov. 21. The flat and festive course, perfect for strollers as well as runners and walkers of all ages, begins at the Santa Ana River Trail. - NoHo Arts District hosts their own turkey day event, the Drumstick Dash, on Nov. 25. The family-friendly 5k/10k course will feature freebies, a costume contest, live DJ and awards.
