Hamakom synagogue in West Hills has received a grant to launch an interactive camp-like Jewish after-school program to support busy parents. Enrollment for The Spot is now open for the 2024-25 school year for children in TK through fifth grade. Whether parents need after-school care or want quality Jewish programming for their children, The Spot offers programs from 2:30-6 pm Monday through Thursday, and from 2:30-5 pm on Fridays. Transportation from several local elementary schools is also available.
At The Spot, children will receive quality afternoon childcare with activities of their choosing and Jewish values and Hebrew woven into every part of the day. Sara Price, program director at The Spot, says, “Our goal is for Judaism to come alive for your child by personally experiencing the joys and wonder of being a part of Jewish culture. And while we are at it, we will make sure homework gets completed and your child receives nutritional snacks – all this and tons of fun in an upbeat camp-like environment!”
