Los Angeles favorite Patrick Warburton — known to many as “Puddy” on “Seinfeld” and the voice of Joe Swanson on “Family Guy” — has been crowned King Bacchus LVII for the 2026 Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans.

This Sunday, Feb. 15, Warburton will lead the legendary Krewe of Bacchus Parade, presiding over a 32-float procession before hundreds of thousands of spectators along the Uptown route. This year’s theme, “Bacchus Celebrates America 250,” ties the celebration to the nation’s 250th anniversary—making Warburton’s reign part of a milestone year in U.S. history.

The Bacchus Parade, one of Mardi Gras’ most celebrated traditions, features 1,700 riders and past celebrity kings including Shaquille O’Neal, Will Ferrell and Nicolas Cage. Warburton joins that roster as the face of one of America’s largest cultural parades.

Outside of Hollywood, Warburton and his wife, Cathy Jennings, have raised more than $40 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through their annual celebrity golf event, The Warburton, held in Palm Desert each March. Now entering its 16th year (March 12–15), the tournament continues to grow, with last year’s total topping $6.4 million in donations.

Lately, Warburton has also taken the stage in a new way — as a stand-up comedian. His unmistakable baritone and dry wit have found a second life in front of live audiences, where he’s been quietly selling out shows across the country.
