Summer is right around the corner, which means so is summer break for your kids. It’s time to book those summer classes, camps and events. If you have budding athletes in your family, perhaps joining the local youth baseball team could be a fun and fulfilling way to spend the summer. Dodgers RBI Baseball/Softball is now open for registration for their 2021 season. Youth ages 5 to 18 can register for free at their nearest location.
The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks has partnered with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation since 2014 to provide Dodgers RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) baseball and softball leagues to local youth. Dodgers RBI, founded by former Major League baseball player John Young, uses sport as a vehicle to provide critical resources to communities who are experiencing social injustices. More than 10,000 Angelenos ages 5 to 18 participate in the program annually, joining teams that play from June to September across L.A. County.
Registration includes so much more than a spot on your local team. Families who register will receive baseball and softball equipment, uniforms, personal protective equipment, community resource drive-thru events, mental wellness and nutritional support, racial equality curriculum, virtual fitness clinics, virtual coaches training, player development trainings, virtual college and career accelerator workshops, Dodgers reading champions challenge, and virtual parent workshops. Thanks to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation there will not be a registration fee this year.
