The theme for Earth Day 2026 is “Our Power, Our Planet,” reminding us that every action counts because collectively we can make a difference.

Earth Day falls on Wednesday, April 22, but communities and organizations across Los Angeles are hosting family-friendly events celebrating our planet throughout the month. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite Earth Day events in L.A. — full of kid-friendly opportunities to deepen their connection with nature and inspire positive change for our planet.
Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts’ Earth Day 2026
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sat., April 11 | Sanitation Districts’ Joint Administration Office
On April 11, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts’ Earth Day 2026 event returns to its main office in Whittier. The all-ages festival will have popular crafts, Paint-a-Pot and Plant-a-Seed, plus magic shows, face painters, free popcorn and hot dogs, in addition to food for sale, open mic karaoke and more. Nature Club – Trees
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Sat., April 11 | White Point Nature Preserve
Celebrate Earth Month with a tree themed Nature Club at White Point Nature Education Center! You’ll do fun tree crafts and even plant a tree in the nature preserve. Ages 3-10 years old. More info.
Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Easy Mornings
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sat., April 18 | Gloria Molina Grand Park
With the theme “Discovery as Power,” Gloria Molina Grand Park invites Angelenos of all ages to deepen their relationships with themselves, community and the park. Two Saturday mornings—April 4 and 18, 2026—filled with free nature-inspired activities and workshops! Each installment will encourage families to change their perspectives about the natural world—in time for Earth Day—and see it in beautiful and unexpected ways. This year’s free programs include family yoga, arts & crafts, a clothes swap, face painting, storytelling, a “Zen Den” holding space for guests who need a sensory break from all the action, and so much more. Earth Day Beach Clean Up

Join Heal the Bay for an Earth Day Beach Clean Up on April 18. Meet at Santa Monica Pier Tower 1550 to remove hundreds of pounds of trash along our coast. There will be games that teach about the impact of plastic on our environment, prizes, a science tent and more. More info.
LASAN’s Earth Day LA 2026
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sat., April 18 | Pan Pacific Park
LA Sanitation & Environment’s signature event features free food, giveaways, over 40 educational exhibitors, city vehicles to explore, photo ops, a kids zone, games and prizes.
Bring your own resusable water bottle to fill up with cold filtered water. Also enjoy meals from Savage Tacos until they run out, performances beginning at noon and a DJ throughout the day. More info.
Ascot Hills Park Kite Festival
11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sat., April 18 | Ascot Hills Park
18th Annual Ascot Hills Park Kite Festival celebrates Earth Day with free kites, tree giveaway, sustainability booths and local resources, rain barrels and compost pails, kids crafts and activities and more. More info.
Earth Day at The Shops at Rossmoor
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sat., April 18 | The Shops at Rossmoor
Celebrate Earth Day with an ocean-inspired afternoon filled with interactive activities and hands-on learning.
Kids can dive into ocean-themed crafts, face painting, games and balloon twisting, while also discovering ways to care for marine life. Plus, explore a Tide Pool Encounter, offering an up-close look at real sea life, and take photos with everyone’s favorite Shark Character for a memorable Earth Day moment.

Earth Bloom: Holi Music & Dance Celebration

Enjoy a day in the park filled with vibrant colors, infectious beats, and amazing dance. This in-person event is all about embracing the joy of spring, and connecting through music, arts, and culture. Bring your friends, and let’s make memories that bloom as bright as the earth itself!
Live performances by Indian Performing Arts Center, Rangoli Dance Company, Soorya Foundation Ensemble and The Music Circle. Featuring special guest Akshara, a South Asian singer-songwriter blending Indian classical training with R&B, pop, and alternative influences.
Enjoy “Indo-Global” cuisine from Indulgia Food Truck. Bring your own water bottle, as the LA Department of Water and Power is bringing their Mobile Water Truck, to make our footprint a little lighter!

Earth Day/ Green Expo

City of Calabasas hosts its annual Earth Day/ Green Expo, featuring exhibitors from all over Los Angeles and Ventura counties inspiring residents to become more “green” through simple lifestyle changes. More info.
23rd Annual Earth Day Celebration
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sun., April 19 | Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market
The City of Beverly Hills will celebrate the 23rd Annual Earth Day event at the Farmer’s Market on April 19 with “Our Power, Our Planet” as the theme. Expect booths from the public works department and other organizations, a free compost giveaway and free shredding services. More info.
Earth Day at NHM

Join the Natural History Museum in the Nature Gardens on April 19 for its annual Earth Day Festival, featuring live musical performances, hands-on activities, up-close encounters with behind-the-scenes museum collections and more ways to celebrate the planet. More info.

Earth Day Teen Climate Fest

A festival for the whole family inspired and created by young leaders, Teen Climate Fest features displays, activities and presentations on the future of sustainability. More info.
Keep It Green, Keep It Clean Earth Day Celebration 2026
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sat., April 25 | Roundhouse Aquarium Teaching Center
The Roundhouse Aquarium, managed by the Oceanographic Teaching Stations, Inc., will be holding its Keep it Green, Keep it Clean Earth Day Celebration. An annual festival that provides educational activities and opportunities to celebrate natural resources. This event will take place in person at the Roundhouse Aquarium and will feature fun, interactive, and hands-on activities that promote sustainable living and environmental stewardship with activity and exhibitor booths set up inside and outside of the Roundhouse Aquarium.
Activities include Plankton Races, crafts, games, face painting and more. All visitors are welcome to explore the aquarium during public hours of 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Donations are appreciated at the entrance, but entry is free of charge. More info.
Pedal for the Planet Playdate
12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sat., April 25 | ROW DTLA
Join ROW DTLA and Playdate with an afternoon outside to celebrate Spring and Earth Day. Kids are encouraged to bring their bikes and scooters to explore ROW DTLA on wheels, stopping along the way for hands-on activations, art, nature, and community.
A mix of complimentary and paid activations include natural dye station, immersive butterfly pop-up, live chalk mural, kids tote decorating and more. More info.
